Useful Tips For Using The VLE

Document formats
Some of the files provided in this VLE may be Microsoft Office files, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint. If you don't have Microsoft Office, you can still open and work on these files by using free office suites such as Libre Office or Apache OpenOffice.

My Private Files
You can use the 'My Private Files' facility to transfer files between home and school.

Drag and Drop File Uploading
Drag and Drop file uploading works in Internet Explorer 10, but not in Internet Explorer 9 and below. Use an up to date version of Chrome, Firefox or Opera instead.

Working with links
By default, when you click on a link to a resource in the VLE, the new webpage opens in the same tab. Instead, you can open links in new tabs by right-clicking a link and choosing 'Open Link in a New Tab' - this can be very useful to you if you are researching a topic and want to keep the VLE page you are on and several other links all open at at the same time.

Always make sure the websites your are basing your research on are trustworthy
